My Birthday :)

Hello beautiful people,

Had my birthday on Saturday and spent the day with the homeless down town.

We made up a ton of hotdogs and the folks were so grateful.  It was a blessing. All though it takes much longer to cook 900 hotdogs on one stove than one might think :)

I was also able to round up a bunch of used clothes and blankets for them. It is winter here and cold and these people just huddle in tarps and under garbage bags in back alleys and streets. It is so sad. You will just see a pile or lump but it is a PERSON. A name, a story, hopes dreams. The are not "homeless people". They are people. Once a little girl laughing on a swing. Once a little boy scoring a soccer goal and dreaming of being Messi. Now here, just grateful to find a can with some soda still left in it or something in the trash that is edible.

This cool guy who works at a store near us donated 200 pairs of these slip on shoes, and we were able to give those too. Most of the homeless were barefoot and their faces just lit up! Amazing how much it means to ask them their name.

Then that night I ran a race here in a stadium. IT was cool and I got the chance to share with a lot of people.
